is there a god in jainism
In Jainism, there is no creator God who made the universe or controls everything.
Jain philosophy teaches that:
- The universe is eternal and has no beginning or end.
- Every soul is independent and can become purified by its own efforts.
- The highest beings are the Tirthankars and siddhas, who are liberated souls, not creator gods.
So, if by “God” you mean an all-powerful creator, Jainism does not accept that idea. If by “God” you mean a perfect, liberated, supreme soul, then Jainism recognizes such liberated beings as siddhas.
