• Bhavya means a soul that is capable of attaining moksha someday.

Such a soul has the inner potential to develop right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct.

• Abhavya means a soul that is not capable of attaining moksha.

No matter how much time passes, it will not develop the full inner cause needed for liberation.

• Bhavya soul = can become liberated in the future.
• Abhavya soul = cannot become liberated.

Important Jain idea

This difference is not about current behavior alone. A bhavya soul may still be ignorant or worldly right now, and an abhavya soul may also look religious. The difference is in the natural capability of the soul.
