Chaityavandan (often written as Chaityavandan) is a Jain devotion performed to pay reverence to the Jinendra Bhagwan, the Sangh, and the holy Tirthas.

    Simple way to do Chaityavandan

    - Bathe or wash hands, feet, and mouth. - Wear clean and modest clothes.

    1. Enter the temple or place of worship with respect

    - Walk calmly. - Keep the mind शांत, humble, and focused.

    1. Do vinay

    - Join palms. - Bow before the Jina idol or image. - Keep the attitude of devotion, not display.

    1. Recite the needed stuti / stavan / sutras

Commonly, Chaityavandan includes: - Navkār Mantra - Iriyāvahiya - Tassā Uttari - Annattha - Logassa - Jaya Vīyarāya - Tihikarā - Karemi Bhante - Sāmāiya - Chaukkasāya - Vandittu - Jaṃkinci - Arihant Cheiyāṇam - Vandāmi Jināṇam - Javanti Cheiyāi - Javanta Kevi Sahu - Panchā Namaskār at the end in many traditions

    1. Perform kayotsarga / meditation

    - Stand or sit still. - Control body, speech, and mind. - Reflect on forgiveness, detachment, and purity.

    1. Ask forgiveness

    - Internally and externally, repent for faults. - End with humility and reverence.

    Important points

    • The exact order can differ a little in Śvetāmbara, Deravāsī, Sthānakvāsī, and some local traditions.
    • The main भावना should be:
    - Ahimsa - Vinay - Shuddhi - Bhakti - Samarpan

    Very short meaning

    Chaityavandan means:
    • bowing to the Jinas,
    • remembering their virtues,
    • purifying the soul,
    • and strengthening the path of liberation.
