How to gorgive people who hurt you and keep repeating it do not respect you h

    3 months ago 52

In Jain Dharma, forgiveness is kṣamā. It does not mean accepting disrespect or allowing harm to continue.

A Jain way to handle this is:

    1. Forgive inwardly

    - Release anger, hatred, and revenge. - Wish well even to the person who hurt you. - This protects your own soul from bitterness.

    1. Keep boundaries

    - Forgiveness does not mean tolerating repeated disrespect. - You can stay peaceful and still reduce contact, say no, or protect yourself.

    1. Speak with truth and calmness

    - In Jainism, satya means truth with gentleness. - Say clearly: “This behavior hurts me. I will not accept it.”

    1. Do not retaliate

    - Jain dharma teaches ahiṃsā. - Avoid paying back hurt with hurt.

    1. Practice equanimity

    - Try to see that their actions are due to their own passions like anger, pride, or ignorance. - This helps reduce personal attachment to the pain.

    1. Pratikraman and introspection

    - Reflect on your own feelings and mistakes. - Ask for forgiveness for any anger, harshness, or resentment in your heart.

A short Jain prayer-like feeling you can keep is: “I forgive, I stay शांत, and I protect my soul from anger.”

True forgiveness in Jainism is inner purity plus wise restraint.
