Pranam. Below is a simple written note you can use and share.

    18 Abhishek Pratimaji

In Jain tradition, Abhishek means the sacred bathing and purification of a Pratimaji with devotion, purity, and reverence. When a Pratimaji is called 18 Abhishek, it means the idol is traditionally worshipped through eighteen respectful bathing and purification steps/offerings, done according to local temple tradition and guru-parampara.

    General meaning of 18 Abhishek

The purpose of 18 Abhishek is:
    • to purify the mind and surroundings,
    • to express devotion toward the Arihants,
    • to cultivate humility, faith, and inner cleanliness,
    • to remind the devotee of detachment and sacredness.

    Important note

The exact sequence of the 18 Abhishek can differ from temple to temple and according to tradition. So for written material, it is best to present it as:
    • a traditional devotional ritual,
    • performed with shuddhi, bhakti, and niyam,
    • under the guidance of the local temple system.

    ---

    Short written paragraph for sharing

“18 Abhishek Pratimaji and Anjan Pratimaji are sacred forms of Jain devotion. Their worship is performed with purity, reverence, and discipline. The purpose of Abhishek and daily puja is not only outer ritual, but inner purification, humility, and remembrance of the Arihants. Daily worship should be done with cleanliness of body and mind, respectful pranam, devotional puja, recitation, and silent contemplation. The exact ritual method may vary according to local Jain tradition, but the spirit remains the same: devotion, non-violence, purity, and detachment.”
