    Peaceful mind technique

    3 months ago 45

For a peaceful mind in Jain Dharma, practice these simple techniques:

    1. Pratikraman

    - Reflect on your actions daily. - Admit mistakes with humility. - This reduces inner burden and brings calm.

    1. Maitri-Bhavana

    - Develop friendship toward all living beings. - Avoid anger, jealousy, and hatred. - A compassionate heart becomes शांत and light.

    1. Samayik

    - Sit in equanimity for some time each day. - Stay steady in thoughts, speech, and conduct. - This is one of the best practices for inner peace.

    1. Kshama

    - Practice forgiveness. - Forgive others and ask forgiveness for your own faults. - Forgiveness removes mental unrest.

    1. Swadhyaya

    - Study Jain scriptures and good teachings. - Right knowledge quiets confusion and strengthens the soul.

    1. Meditation on the soul

    - Remember: “I am not anger, not pride, not attachment.” - Focus on the pure, conscious आत्मा. - This helps detach the mind from disturbance.

    1. Limit desires

    - Reduce greed, unnecessary expectations, and attachment. - Less desire means less worry.

    1. Avoid harmful speech and actions

    - Speak gently, truthfully, and with restraint. - Non-violence in thought, word, and deed brings mental balance.

A very simple daily formula is:

Morning: Namokar Mantra + 5 minutes silence Daytime: Watch anger and attachment Evening: Pratikraman + forgiveness

In Jainism, true peace comes not only from relaxing the mind, but from purifying the soul through ahimsa, samyaktva, and self-restraint.
