Paryushan start stotra
During Paryushan, Jains recite various stotras (hymns/prayers) as part of their spiritual practices. One of the most commonly recited and highly revered stotras during Paryushan is the Namokar Mantra (Navkar Mantra). This mantra is considered the most fundamental prayer in Jainism and is often recited at the beginning of all religious activities, including Paryushan.
Here is the Namokar Mantra:
णमो अरिहंताणं Namo Arihantāṇam (I bow to the Arihants - the perfected souls)
णमो सिद्धाणं Namo Siddhāṇam (I bow to the Siddhas - the liberated souls)
णमो आयरियाणं Namo Ayariyāṇam (I bow to the Acharyas - the spiritual leaders)
णमो उवज्झायाणं Namo Uvajjhāyāṇam (I bow to the Upadhyayas - the teachers)
णमो लोए सव्वसाहूणं Namo Loe Savva-Sāhūṇam (I bow to all the Sadhus - the monks in the world)
Eso Pancha Namokkaro, Savva Pāvappanāsano (This fivefold salutation destroys all sins)
Mangalanam Cha Savvesim, Padhamam Havai Mangalam (And among all auspicious things, this is the foremost auspicious one)
During Paryushan, Jains may also recite other stotras such as the Uvasaggaharam Stotra, Kalyan Mandir Stotra, and Bhaktamar Stotra. But the Namokar Mantra is the primary start stotra for all Jain rituals, especially during Paryushan.
