Who is doing krodh?
In Jain Dharma, krodh (anger) is done by the jiva (soul) when it is influenced by krodh-kashaya and karma.
But in the real spiritual sense, the pure soul does not have anger. Anger arises when the soul is covered by karmic bondage and becomes attached to the body, situations, and ego.
So, simply said:
- Vyavahar naya: the living being appears to do krodh.
- Nishchay naya: krodh is an impurity of karma, not the true nature of the soul.
In Jain way, the goal is to observe krodh, understand it is not the soul’s nature, and धीरे-धीरे remove it through samyak darshan, self-restraint, and forgiveness.
