From what poin of view krodh is done by soul?
48
From the vyavahāra naya (practical or conventional viewpoint), krodh is said to be done by the soul because the soul is identified with the bhāva of anger and becomes the doer of that state through its attachment with karmas.
From the niścaya naya (absolute viewpoint), the pure soul does not do krodh at all. Anger belongs to the impure state of the soul due to karma and kasāya, not to the soul’s original nature.
So, in Jain philosophy:
- Conventional view: soul is said to do krodh
- Absolute view: pure soul is not the doer of krodh
In short, krodh is attributed to the soul from the practical viewpoint, but not from the real, pure viewpoint.
