What are the main principles that I should follow in jainism in today's life

    3 months ago 48

In today’s life, the main principles of Jainism to follow are:

    1. Ahimsa (Non-violence)

Do not harm any living being by thought, word, or action. In daily life, this means being gentle, compassionate, and careful in what you eat, say, and do.

    1. Satya (Truthfulness)

Always speak the truth, but in a way that is kind, calm, and not harmful.

    1. Asteya (Non-stealing)

Do not take anything that is not rightfully yours. Also avoid cheating, dishonesty, and unfair gain.

    1. Brahmacharya / Control of desires

Live with discipline and restraint. For householders, this means moderation and purity in conduct.

    1. Aparigraha (Non-possessiveness)

Do not become overly attached to money, property, comfort, or status. Use what is needed and keep desires limited.

    1. Right Faith, Right Knowledge, Right Conduct

These are the foundation of Jain life: - Right Faith: trusting the Jain path sincerely - Right Knowledge: learning true Jain principles - Right Conduct: living according to them

    1. Self-discipline and forgiveness

Control anger, pride, greed, deceit, and attachment. Practice forgiveness, humility, and inner peace.

    1. Respect for all life

See every soul as worthy of respect. Be careful even in small actions, because every living being matters.

    1. Simple and clean living

Live with simplicity, less greed, and more contentment. Avoid unnecessary waste and excess.

    1. Daily spiritual practice

Do prayer, meditation, repentance, and study of Jain scriptures or teachings regularly.

In short, Jainism in modern life means: be non-violent, truthful, disciplined, non-attached, respectful to all beings, and spiritually जागरूक (aware).

If you follow these principles with sincerity, Jainism becomes a practical way of living in every part of life.
