How can I harm someone by thoughts
In Jain Dharma, intentionally wishing harm through thoughts is a form of हिंसा (himsa). Even if no physical action happens, malicious thinking creates karma and disturbs your own peace of soul.
A Jain approach is:
- Recognize the harmful thought
- Stop it immediately
- Replace it with क्षमा (forgiveness), मैत्री (friendliness), and समता (equanimity)
- Reflect on अहिंसा: not harming any living being in mind, speech, or body
If anger or resentment is rising, do this:
- Pause and breathe slowly
- Repeat: “I do not wish harm to any जीव”
- Practice forgiveness
- Shift attention to prayer, swadhyaya, or meditation
- Avoid acting on anger
In Jainism, real strength is controlling the mind, not harming others. If you want, I can explain how Jainism teaches control of angry thoughts in a simple way.
