From the Jain point of view, yes — killing to “teach a lesson” is wrong. In Jain Dharma, himsa (violence) is always a grave fault, regardless of the reason.

Also, Jainism does not accept a creator-god who arbitrarily punishes, destroys, or kills beings. In Jain philosophy:

• No supreme god creates or destroys souls
• Every soul suffers or rises according to its own karma
• Ahimsa is the highest principle
• No violence can be justified as a moral teaching

So if a story shows a divine being causing death to instruct someone, Jain teaching would not see that as an ideal or acceptable model. It would be understood as contrary to Jain ethics.

In short: Jainism rejects the idea that killing is a righteous way to teach a lesson.
