    Steps by step samyik vidhi

    2 months ago 13

    Answer

Here is a simple step-by-step Samayik Vidhi in common Jain practice:

    1. Prepare yourself

    - Bathe or wash hands and feet if possible. - Wear clean, simple clothes. - Choose a quiet and clean place.

    1. Set up for Samayik

    - Sit on an asan or clean cloth. - Keep your body calm and your mind free from distraction. - If your tradition uses muhpatti, keep it properly.

    1. Take the vow of Samayik

    - With sincerity, mentally resolve: - I will remain in equanimity. - I will avoid anger, greed, pride, deceit, and attachment. - I will avoid harming any जीव. - I will observe silence or speak only if necessary. - Samayik is usually observed for one muhurta.

    1. Offer reverence

    - Remember and bow to: - Arihants - Siddhas - Acharyas - Upadhyayas - Sadhus - Recite Namokar Mantra with devotion.

    1. Begin the practice

    - Sit in a steady posture. - Keep your back straight and mind शांत. - Maintain inner balance and awareness.

    1. During Samayik

You may do any of the following: - Recite prayers or stotras - Do swadhyay - Meditate on the आत्मा - Remain in silence - Reflect on forgiveness, non-violence, and detachment

    1. Maintain careful conduct

    - Do not engage in unnecessary speech. - Do not entertain anger, gossip, or harmful thoughts. - Keep your attention on inner purity and equanimity.

    1. Conclude Samayik

    - End with prayer and forgiveness. - Offer Micchami Dukkadam to all जीवs. - Ask forgiveness for any fault in mind, speech, or body. - Gently come out of the vow.

    Explanation

Samayik means staying in equanimity and spiritual balance. It is one of the most important Jain practices because it trains the soul to remain शांत, detached, and अहिंसक.

A simple way to understand it:

    • Before Samayik: prepare body and mind
    • During Samayik: remain calm, aware, and non-violent
    • After Samayik: ask forgiveness and carry that peace forward

    Spiritual Understanding

Samayik is not only a ritual. It is a sacred discipline of the soul.

    Its deeper purpose is:

    • to reduce karmic bondage
    • to strengthen equanimity
    • to cultivate अहिंसा
    • to create inner purity
    • to practice self-control and detachment

In Jain Dharma, this practice helps us move from external activity to inner जागरूकता.

    Takeaway

Samayik = calm body, calm speech, calm mind, and a peaceful soul.

If done with sincerity, even a simple Samayik becomes deeply powerful. Different Jain traditions may have slightly different vidhi, but the spirit remains the same: equanimity, purity, and forgiveness.
