While doing ppoja how many types of shedding we have to maintain
Answer
If by “shedding” you mean shuddhi during pooja, then in Jain Dharma we generally maintain 3 main types of shuddhi:- Deha Shuddhi — purity of the body
- Dravya Shuddhi — purity of the items used in pooja
- Bhava Shuddhi — purity of mind, intention, and devotion
Explanation
- Deha Shuddhi means bathing, keeping the body clean, and wearing fresh, clean clothes.
- Dravya Shuddhi means using clean and pure pooja materials such as water, rice, flowers where allowed, sandal, and other items according to tradition.
- Bhava Shuddhi is the most important. It means doing pooja with a शांत, श्रद्धा-filled, and non-egoistic mind.
Some traditions also speak about purity of:
- Man — mind
- Vachan — speech
- Kaya — body
But for pooja, the commonly taught essential focus is body, materials, and inner भावना.
Spiritual Understanding
In Jain Dharma, बाहरी शुद्धि is important, but inner purity is even more important. A pooja becomes meaningful when it is done with:- श्रद्धा
- विनम्रता
- concentration
- non-attachment
- purity of intention
Without bhava shuddhi, outer ritual alone is incomplete.
