How many rog in one body
In Jainism, the concept of "rog" (diseases or ailments) is often discussed in the context of the physical body's inherent vulnerabilities and the suffering (duḥkha) present in samsāra (the cycle of birth and death). Jain texts describe the human body as being susceptible to countless diseases due to the karmas bound to the soul.
Specifically, according to Jain scriptures, it is said that there are 84 lakh (8.4 million) types of diseases (rog) that can afflict a human body. This number is mentioned to illustrate the immense suffering present in worldly existence and to encourage detachment and spiritual practice.
For example, in the Tattvartha Sutra and some Jain purāṇas, this figure is referenced to remind practitioners of the body's impermanence and the importance of striving for liberation (moksha), where there is freedom from all kinds of physical and mental suffering.
So, according to Jain philosophy: There are 8.4 million (84 lakh) types of rog (diseases) that can occur in one body.
