Kumarpal Raja, also known as King Kumarpala, was a renowned king of the Chaulukya (Solanki) dynasty who ruled parts of present-day Gujarat, India, during the 12th century CE (reign: c. 1143–1172 CE). He is one of the most celebrated royal figures in Jain history due to his strong patronage and support of Jainism.

Kumarpal was deeply influenced by the prominent Jain Acharya Hemachandra, who became his spiritual guide and advisor. Under Hemachandra's guidance, Kumarpal adopted Jain principles, promoted non-violence (ahimsa), and supported the construction of numerous Jain temples and institutions. His reign is often regarded as a golden era for Jainism in western India, marked by the flourishing of Jain art, architecture, and scholarship.

Kumarpal’s commitment to Jain values included the prohibition of animal slaughter in his kingdom and the promotion of vegetarianism. He is remembered with great respect in Jain tradition and is often cited as an ideal example of a Jain king who ruled with compassion and righteousness.
