Will there be another Tirthankars, if yes then please share their identities.

    3 weeks ago 7

    Answer

Yes. Jain tradition says time moves in cycles, and in each half-cycle there are 24 Tirthankaras. In the present avasarpiṇī of Bharata-kṣetra, Mahāvīra is the last of the 24; the next set will arise in the next utsarpiṇī. ( jainpedia.org)

A commonly cited Bhavishya Chaubisi list gives these identities, with spellings varying slightly by source: Mahāpadma, Surdev, Suparśva, Swayamprabhu, Sarvānubhūti, Devgupt, Udayān, Pedhal, Pottil, Śaṭkīrti, Munisuvrat, Amam, Harsākī, Niṣkāṣay, Nirmam, Chitragupt, Samādhi, Samvar, Yaśodhar, Vijay, Vimal, Devchandra, Anantvīrya, and Bhadrakīrti. ( jainqq.org)

    Explanation

The Jain view is cyclical, not one-time. When one era ends, another begins, and the Tirthankaras appear again to re-establish the path of liberation for that age. That is why Jain texts speak of Tirthankaras in the past, present, and future. ( jainpedia.org)

    Spiritual Understanding

This teaches that the Jain path is eternal and recurring. Tirthankaras are rare, but the truth they reveal—right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct—remains the same whenever they appear. ( jainpedia.org)

    Takeaway

For this present half-cycle, Mahāvīra is the last Tirthankara; in the next cosmic cycle, another 24 will arise. ( jainpedia.org)
