Bhadrabahu Swami was a highly revered Jain Acharya of the early Jain tradition. He is traditionally remembered as the last Shrutakevali, meaning one who had complete knowledge of the Jain Agamas, and is associated with the prediction of a 12-year famine. According to Jain tradition, he led a group of monks to South India during that difficult period, and Chandragupta Maurya is also connected with this migration.
