Top 10 mantra
In Jainism, mantras are sacred utterances or phrases that are recited for spiritual upliftment, protection, and to cultivate virtues such as non-violence, truth, and compassion. The most important and widely recited mantras in Jainism are as follows:
- Namokar Mantra (Navkar Mantra):
णमो अरिहंताणं णमो सिद्धाणं णमो आयरियाणं णमो उवज्झायाणं णमो लोए सव्वसाहूणं Eso Panch Namokaro, Savva Pāvappaṇāsaṇo Mangalanam cha Savvesim, Padhamam Havai Mangalam
- Ucchhavan Mantra:
Om Hreem Shreem (Used for purification and auspicious beginnings)
- Arihantaya Namah:
ॐ अरिहंताय नमः (Obeisance to Arihantas)
- Siddhaya Namah:
ॐ सिद्धाय नमः (Obeisance to Siddhas)
- Acharyaya Namah:
ॐ आचार्याय नमः (Obeisance to Acharyas)
- Upadhyaya Namah:
ॐ उपाध्यायाय नमः (Obeisance to Upadhyayas)
- Sarva Sattva Bhavantu Sukhinah:
सर्वे सत्त्वा भवन्तु सुखिनः (May all beings be happy and peaceful)
- Chattari Mangalam:
चत्तारी मंगलं अरिहंता मंगलं, सिद्धा मंगलं साहू मंगलं, केवलीपण्णत्तो धम्मो मंगलं (Four auspicious beings/things: Arihantas, Siddhas, Sadhus, and the Dharma taught by Kevalis)
- Tassa Uttari Mantra:
तस्स उत्तरी करणे पत्था (Chanted for seeking forgiveness)
- Forgiveness Mantra (Khamemi Savva Jiva):
खमेमि सव्व जीवो सव्वे जीवा खमंतु मे मित्ति में सव्व भूएसु वेरं मज्झण केणइ (I forgive all living beings, and may all living beings forgive me)
These mantras are considered highly auspicious and reciting them daily is a significant part of Jain spiritual practice. The Namokar Mantra holds the most prominent position among all Jain mantras.
