Do Jain’s believe in astrology
In Jainism, the primary focus is on self-effort (purushartha), karma, and liberation (moksha), rather than reliance on external forces such as astrology. Jain philosophy teaches that one's current circumstances and future are determined by one's own actions (karma) rather than by the positions of stars and planets.
While some Jains in practice may consult astrology due to cultural influences or family traditions, classical Jain scriptures do not endorse astrology as a means to determine or alter one's destiny. The emphasis remains on personal responsibility, right conduct (samyak charitra), right knowledge (samyak jnana), and right faith (samyak darshan) as the true path for spiritual progress and overcoming karmic bondage.
In summary, Jainism as a philosophy does not support or give importance to astrology.
