Which hell does jiv go if the human is angry most of the time in his life?
Answer
In Jain Dharma, it is not possible to say one exact hell just from “being angry most of the time.” The soul’s next birth depends on many karmas, not anger alone.Explanation
Anger is one of the main passions, called krodh. If a person lives with strong and repeated anger, it binds heavy karma and can lead to very painful rebirths, including narak gati (hellish birth). But which hell the jiva goes to depends on:
- the intensity of anger,
- the other passions like pride, deceit, greed,
- violence and harmful actions,
- overall karma accumulated in life.
So Jainism does not say, “anger most of the time = one fixed hell.” Rather, habitual anger is a serious cause of lower gati, and the soul may go to one of the hells according to the weight of its karma.
Spiritual Understanding
Anger burns peace first in this life, and then it creates bondage for the next life. In Jain teaching, control of anger is important because it protects:- the soul from karma bondage,
- inner calm,
- compassion toward all living beings.
