What will we not get in the 6th ara
Answer
In the 6th Ara of the current Avasarpini cycle, Jain tradition says that people will not get true Dharma in the proper form.
This means there will be no proper availability of:
- Samyag Darshan — right faith
- Samyag Jnan — right knowledge
- Samyag Charitra — right conduct
- True Jain Sangh in its pure form
- Kevaljnanis, Tirthankars, or true spiritual guides
- Liberation path as properly taught and practiced
Explanation
The 6th Ara is called Dushama-Dushama Kal, the most sorrowful and spiritually degraded period of the descending time cycle.
In this Ara:
- Human life becomes very short and full of suffering.
- People lose spiritual discipline and purity.
- Religion declines greatly.
- The true teachings of the Tirthankars are no longer available in the proper way.
So the biggest loss in the 6th Ara is that living beings will not have the proper opportunity to understand and practice the path of moksha.
Spiritual Understanding
Jain Dharma teaches that we are currently in the 5th Ara. Even though this time is difficult, the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir are still available.
That is why human birth, right faith, contact with Dharma, and opportunity for sadhana are considered extremely precious.
Takeaway
In the 6th Ara, people will not get true Jain Dharma and the proper path to moksha. Therefore, Jain tradition encourages us to value the present opportunity and practice Dharma now.
