    give narative of Nirwan kalyanak

    6 days ago 2

    Answer

In Jain Dharma, Nirwan Kalyanak is the sacred event when a Tirthankar or liberated soul destroys all remaining karmas and attains Moksha — complete freedom from the cycle of birth and death.

It is one of the five Kalyanaks of a Tirthankar’s life:

    • Chyavan Kalyanak
    • Janma Kalyanak
    • Diksha Kalyanak
    • Kevalgyan Kalyanak
    • Nirwan Kalyanak

    Narrative of Nirwan Kalyanak

After attaining Kevalgyan, the Tirthankar gives divine preaching for the welfare of all living beings. Through the Samavasaran, countless souls receive the path of right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct.

When the final moment of earthly life arrives, the Tirthankar remains fully detached, peaceful, and absorbed in the pure nature of the soul. There is no attachment to the body, no fear, no desire, and no sorrow.

At the time of Nirwan, all remaining Aghati karmas are completely destroyed. The soul becomes fully liberated and rises to the top of the universe, known as Siddhashila. There, the soul remains forever in its pure state — possessing infinite knowledge, infinite perception, infinite bliss, and infinite energy.

The Nirwan of a Tirthankar is not considered death in the ordinary sense. It is the highest spiritual victory — complete release from all bondage.

    Spiritual Understanding

Nirwan Kalyanak teaches that the true goal of life is not worldly success, pleasure, or power, but the purification and liberation of the soul.

    It reminds us:

    • The body is temporary, but the soul is eternal.
    • Karma is the cause of bondage.
    • Detachment, right conduct, and spiritual effort lead to liberation.
    • Moksha is the highest state of peace and bliss.

    Example: Bhagwan Mahavir’s Nirwan Kalyanak

Bhagwan Mahavir attained Nirwan at Pawapuri. This sacred event is remembered on Diwali by Jains. For Jains, Diwali is a day of spiritual reflection, devotion, and remembrance of Bhagwan Mahavir’s liberation.

On this day, devotees worship, recite prayers, study Jain teachings, light lamps, and resolve to walk further on the path of inner purity.

    Takeaway

Nirwan Kalyanak is the celebration of the soul’s final freedom. It inspires every Jain to reduce attachment, overcome passions, follow the path shown by the Tirthankars, and move toward the ultimate goal of Moksha.
