What happens in the ninth gunasthan

    5 days ago 2

    Answer

The ninth Guṇasthān is called Anivṛtti Bādar Sāmparāya Guṇasthān.

In this stage, the soul is very highly purified and is progressing toward the destruction or suppression of passions. The gross passions become extremely weak, and the soul’s conduct becomes very refined.

    Explanation

The 14 Guṇasthāns describe the soul’s spiritual progress from delusion to liberation.

    In the ninth Guṇasthān:

    • The soul has already reached a very advanced level of right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct.
    • The intense forms of anger, pride, deceit, and greed are no longer active.
    • Only very subtle forms of passions remain.
    • The soul is moving closer to the complete elimination of conduct-deluding karma.
    • This stage belongs to very advanced sādhus, not ordinary householders.

The word Anivṛtti means there is no returning to the lower kind of spiritual activity in that sequence of inner purification. Bādar Sāmparāya means that some comparatively gross attachment or passion still remains, though it is very weak compared to earlier stages.

    Spiritual Understanding

The ninth Guṇasthān shows that even after reaching a very high spiritual level, the soul must still remove the remaining traces of passion. Jain Dharma teaches that liberation requires not only good actions, but complete freedom from attachment, aversion, and delusion.

    Takeaway

The ninth Guṇasthān is a very advanced stage where gross passions are nearly overcome, and the soul is preparing to enter even subtler states of purity leading toward keval-jñān and mokṣa.
