Yes, according to Jainism, a Jina (also called a Tirthankara) is a soul who has conquered inner passions and achieved Kevala Jnana (omniscience or infinite knowledge). After attaining Kevala Jnana, these Kevalins (omniscients) remain in the world for some time to teach and guide others towards liberation. They establish the fourfold Jain Sangha (community of monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen) and show the path to moksha (liberation).

Therefore, in Jain tradition, Jinas are Kevalins who teach in the world during their lifetime after attaining omniscience and before attaining final liberation (moksha or nirvana). After their teachings, they attain liberation and are no longer present in the world.
