What does come on our bhajan because of which kod rog happens?

    2 days ago 2

    Answer

In Jain understanding, kod rog (skin disease/leprosy-type suffering) is generally connected with ashātā vedanīya karma and other harmful karmas that give painful bodily experiences.

It does not “come on our bhajan” in the literal sense. Rather, such suffering arises due to previously bound karmas, especially karmas connected with causing pain, cruelty, harshness, lack of compassion, or disrespect toward living beings.

    Explanation

In Jain Dharma, diseases happen because of the rise of karmas connected with the body and suffering, such as:

    • Ashātā vedanīya karma – karma that causes pain, disease, discomfort, and suffering.
    • Nāma karma – karma connected with the type and condition of the body.
    • Āyuṣya karma – karma connected with lifespan and birth conditions.

The exact cause of a specific disease cannot be declared with certainty for a particular person. Jain Dharma teaches that karmas are extremely subtle, and only a Kevalī Bhagwan knows them completely.

    Spiritual Understanding

If someone suffers from kod rog or any disease, Jain Dharma does not teach us to blame or shame them. Instead, it teaches:

    • Have compassion.
    • Do seva with kindness.
    • Avoid hatred, disgust, and judgment.
    • Practice samayik, pratikraman, forgiveness, and dharm dhyan.
    • Follow medical treatment along with spiritual strength.

Disease is a result of karma, but our response should be karuṇā — compassion.

    Takeaway

Kod rog is understood as the rise of painful karmas, especially ashātā vedanīya karma. But Jain Dharma’s message is not to blame the sufferer; it is to respond with compassion, purity, forgiveness, and spiritual effort.
