If with full renunciation in animal can animals go to moksha or only path to moksha is through human being

    4 hrs ago 4

    Answer

In Jain Dharma, moksha is attained only from human birth, not from animal birth.

Even if an animal has good feelings or a peaceful nature, an animal body does not have the full capacity required for:

    • Right Faith, Right Knowledge, and Right Conduct in their complete form
    • Taking full renunciation as a monk or nun
    • Practicing the highest level of self-restraint
    • Destroying all karmas necessary for liberation

So, the direct path to moksha is through human birth only.

    Explanation

According to Jain tradition, beings are born in four main gatis:

    • Deva gati — heavenly beings
    • Manushya gati — human beings
    • Tiryanch gati — animals, birds, insects, plants, etc.
    • Narak gati — hellish beings

Among these, only human birth provides the proper combination of awareness, discipline, choice, and spiritual opportunity needed for liberation.

Animals may have consciousness and souls just like humans, but their bodies and mental conditions are limited. They cannot properly understand scriptures, take formal vows, practice complete ascetic discipline, or progress to the final stages of spiritual purity needed for moksha.

    Spiritual Understanding

This is why Jain Dharma teaches that human birth is extremely precious.

A soul may be born as an animal due to karma, and through good feelings, non-violent tendencies, or contact with saints, it may bind auspicious karma and later receive a better birth. But moksha itself is not attained from animal birth.

The soul must obtain human birth, develop samyag darshan, follow right conduct, and ultimately destroy all karmas.

    Takeaway

Animals have souls and can spiritually progress indirectly, but final liberation is possible only through human birth. Therefore, Jain Dharma encourages us to use this rare human life for right faith, right knowledge, right conduct, non-violence, self-control, and liberation.
