    Answer

I understand your hurt. In Jain Dharma, a person’s spiritual identity is not measured only by Sangh membership or a formal letter. If you are sincerely following Jain principles, doing Samayik, practicing Ahimsa, truthfulness, restraint, and devotion, that has deep spiritual value.

At the same time, a Sangh may have its own administrative constitution and rules for issuing letters or membership documents. Those rules may be social or legal in nature, but they do not decide the purity of your faith.

    Explanation

Jain Dharma teaches us to look at every soul with equality and compassion. If someone feels ignored or treated differently, that pain is understandable.

But it is also important to separate two things:

    • Religious truth: A Jain follower is known by faith, conduct, values, and spiritual effort.
    • Sangh administration: Membership, certificates, and letters may depend on local rules, constitution, or committee procedures.

If the Sangh says their constitution does not allow such a letter, then it may be an administrative limitation. But ideally, Jain people should communicate this with kindness, respect, and sensitivity.

    Spiritual Understanding

Daily Samayik is a beautiful practice. Its purpose is to develop:

    • equanimity,
    • forgiveness,
    • humility,
    • reduction of anger and ego,
    • equal vision toward all living beings.

If others behave differently from what we expect, Jain Dharma guides us to protect our inner peace and avoid bitterness. Their behavior should not reduce your devotion.

You may respectfully request again in writing:

    • that you are not asking for Sangh membership,
    • you only need a simple confirmation of Jain faith/practice,
    • you respect the Sangh rules,
    • and you request guidance on what is possible within their constitution.

If they still refuse, try not to feel that Jain Dharma has rejected you. A committee decision is not the same as Dharma.

    Takeaway

Your Jain faith is reflected more in your conduct than in a document. Continue Samayik with sincerity, keep respect for the Sangh, and respond with calmness. True Jainism is in equality, compassion, forgiveness, and inner purity.
