    Nigod nivaaran tap vidhi

    18 minutes ago 1

    Answer

Nigod Nivāraṇ Tap is a Jain tapasya observed with the bhāv of reducing and preventing future association with nigod jīvas and progressing toward spiritual purity.

However, the exact vidhi of this tap can vary by sampradāy, gaccha, tradition, and guru-paramparā. Therefore, it should be performed only after taking proper guidance from your Guru Bhagwant, Sādhujī/Sādhvījī, or knowledgeable Jain scholar.

    Commonly Followed General Vidhi

In many Jain traditions, the tap is generally done with:

    • Guru ājñā: First take permission and guidance from Guru Bhagwant.
    • Saṅkalp: Take a pure resolve to do the tap for spiritual purification, not for pride or display.
    • Upvās / Ayambil / Ekāsanā / Biyāsanā: The fasting form depends on the tradition and one’s capacity.
    • Pratikramaṇ: Perform pratikramaṇ and ask forgiveness for harm caused knowingly or unknowingly to jīvas.
    • Japa and dhyān: Recite Navkār Mantra, Logassa, or other accepted Jain prayers as advised by Guru.
    • Swādhyāy: Study or listen to teachings on jīva-dayā, ahimsā, karma, and saṃsār.
    • Ahimsā bhāv: Maintain special care in food, water, speech, walking, and daily conduct.
    • Dān / jīva-dayā: Some traditions include donation or compassionate activity according to proper Jain maryādā.
    • Pāraṇā: Complete the tap with proper pāraṇā at the correct time, as instructed.

    Important Note

I cannot give one fixed universal vidhi because Jain traditions may follow different details for Nigod Nivāraṇ Tap. Giving an uncertain or invented ritual procedure would not be proper.

    Spiritual Understanding

In Jain Dharma, nigod refers to extremely subtle, undeveloped living beings who remain in a very low state of existence. Reflection on nigod helps a person understand:

    • the vastness of saṃsār,
    • the rarity of human birth,
    • the importance of ahimsā,
    • the urgency of right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct.

    Takeaway

Nigod Nivāraṇ Tap should be done with humility, ahimsā, and guru-guidance. The safest and most authentic way is to ask your local Guru Bhagwant for the exact vidhi followed in your tradition.
