Jeev (जीव) is the opposite of Ajiva and refers to the soul or conscious beings.

So, Ajiva ma jeev (in Ajiva, there is no jeev) means that among the categories of Ajiva, there is no presence of soul or consciousness. Ajiva is always non-living and devoid of consciousness, while Jeev refers only to those substances that have life and consciousness.
