In Jain Dharma, Kevalins are beings who have attained Keval Jñān — perfect, infinite knowledge.

Ordinary people can see the physical body of a Kevalin if the Kevalin is still living in embodied form. For example, people saw and heard Bhagwan Mahavir after He attained Keval Jñān.

But we cannot see their Keval Jñān itself with ordinary eyes, because it is a pure quality of the soul.

There are two points to understand:

• Living Kevalin: If a Kevalin is present in the world with a body, people may see their body and listen to their divine preaching.
• Liberated Siddha: After nirvāṇa, the Kevalin becomes a Siddha, free from the body forever. Siddhas cannot be seen with physical eyes.

According to Jain tradition, after Bhagwan Mahavir’s nirvāṇa, there are no Tirthankars present in our Bharat Kshetra in the current time cycle. Therefore, we cannot see a living Tirthankar here today.
