    explain me what is tatva

    2 hrs ago 3

    Answer

In Jain Dharma, Tattva means a fundamental truth or reality. It explains the real nature of the soul, karma, bondage, liberation, and the spiritual path.

Understanding Tattva is very important because Jain Dharma teaches that right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct begin with knowing reality correctly.

    Explanation

Traditionally, Jain Dharma explains seven Tattvas:

    • 1. Jiva – Soul or living being
    • 2. Ajiva – Non-living substance, such as matter, space, time, motion, and rest
    • 3. Asrava – Inflow of karma into the soul
    • 4. Bandha – Bondage of karma with the soul
    • 5. Samvara – Stopping the inflow of new karma
    • 6. Nirjara – Shedding or removal of existing karma
    • 7. Moksha – Complete liberation of the soul from all karma

Some Jain traditions also explain nine Tattvas by adding:

    • Punya – Merit-producing karma
    • Papa – Sinful or harmful karma

So the nine are: Jiva, Ajiva, Punya, Papa, Asrava, Bandha, Samvara, Nirjara, Moksha.

    Spiritual Understanding

    Tattva helps us understand:

    • Who am I? – I am a soul, not merely the body.
    • Why do I suffer? – Because of karmic bondage.
    • How can I become free? – By stopping new karma and shedding old karma.
    • What is the final goal? – Moksha, the pure liberated state of the soul.

In simple words, Tattva teaches the complete spiritual journey:

Soul → Karma enters → Karma binds → Stop karma → Remove karma → Liberation

    Takeaway

Tattva means the true principles of reality. By understanding Tattva, a person understands the Jain path to purify the soul and move toward Moksha.
