Time to wake up in paryushan and then schedule of the day following pooja

    2 hrs ago 2

    Answer

During Paryushan, it is spiritually beneficial to wake up early, ideally during Brahma Muhurta, around 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM, depending on your health, age, and family routine.

A good Paryushan day can be arranged around:

    • Early rising
    • Pratikraman / Samayik
    • Jin Pooja
    • Swadhyay
    • Tapasya or dietary discipline
    • Seva and forgiveness-bhav
    • Evening Pratikraman

    Suggested Daily Schedule During Paryushan

    • 4:30 AM – Wake up with peaceful thoughts and Navkar Mantra.
    • 4:45 AM – Brush, bathe, wear clean and simple clothes.
    • 5:15 AM – Recite Navkar Mantra, do short meditation or Samayik.
    • 6:00 AM – Go to temple or prepare for Jin Pooja at home.
    • 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM – Perform Jin Pooja with devotion.
    • 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM – Listen to pravachan or do swadhyay.
    • 9:00 AM onwards – If eating, take simple, sattvik, Jain food according to your vow.
    • Morning to afternoon – Practice silence, avoid anger, gossip, harsh speech, and unnecessary activity.
    • 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM – Do scripture reading, reflection, or more mantra jaap.
    • Afternoon – Rest if needed, especially if doing fasting or tapasya.
    • 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM – Samayik, meditation, or preparation for evening Pratikraman.
    • Evening – Attend or perform Pratikraman.
    • Night – Reflect on the day, ask forgiveness, recite Navkar Mantra, sleep early.

    After Pooja

After Jin Pooja, the rest of the day should be kept spiritually focused:

    • Do swadhyay — study Jain teachings.
    • Listen to pravachan.
    • Practice maun or careful speech.
    • Observe your chosen tapasya.
    • Avoid entertainment, anger, criticism, and unnecessary worldly activities.
    • Prepare sincerely for Pratikraman.

    Spiritual Understanding

Paryushan is not only about fasting or rituals. It is a time for:

    • Atma-shuddhi — purification of the soul
    • Kshama — forgiveness
    • Sanyam — self-control
    • Swadhyay — study of Dharma
    • Pratikraman — repentance and correction

    Takeaway

Wake up early, do Pooja with devotion, and keep the entire day peaceful, disciplined, and Dharma-focused. The main goal of Paryushan is to reduce passions and move closer to the pure nature of the soul.
