When I complete 1 samayik and immediately I want to take another-how do I do it

    2 hrs ago 1

    Answer

Yes, you may do another Samayik immediately after completing one.

    The simple way is:

    • First complete the current Samayik properly.
    • Do the required closing procedure according to your tradition.
    • After completing it, again take a fresh Samayik vow/niyam for the next Samayik.
    • Then begin the second Samayik in the same disciplined way.

    Explanation

A Samayik is generally taken for a fixed period, traditionally about 48 minutes. When that period is completed, the Samayik should be ended properly. If you want to continue, you should not casually “extend” it without awareness; instead, take a new Samayik again with proper intention.

    So the order is:

    1. Complete the first Samayik.
    2. Finish the ending prayers/ritual as taught in your family, temple, or Jain tradition.
    3. Mentally become ready again with humility and purity.
    4. Take the second Samayik again by accepting the Samayik vow.

    Spiritual Understanding

Doing Samayik again immediately is spiritually beneficial if done with alertness, devotion, and inner calm. The aim is not only to increase the number of Samayiks, but to remain in samata—equanimity, restraint, forgiveness, and awareness.

    Takeaway

Complete the first Samayik properly, then take a fresh Samayik vow and begin the next one. If you are unsure of the exact words or procedure, follow the guidance of your guru, local upashray, or family tradition.
