    Answer

No. In Jainism, no God, Tirthankar, or divine being dies for the sins of others.

Jain Dharma teaches that every soul is individually responsible for its own karma. No one else can remove, suffer, or “pay for” our karma on our behalf.

    Explanation

    In Jainism:

    • There is no creator God who incarnates to save humanity from sin.
    • There is no doctrine of original sin.
    • There is no belief that one divine being dies as a sacrifice for others’ sins.
    • Each soul binds karma through its own thoughts, words, and actions.
    • Each soul must purify itself through right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct.

Tirthankars such as Bhagwan Rishabhdev, Bhagwan Parshvanath, and Bhagwan Mahavir are not saviors in the sense of taking away sins. They are spiritual conquerors who realized the truth, became omniscient, and showed the path to liberation.

They guide souls, but they do not erase anyone’s karma by sacrifice.

    Spiritual Understanding

Jainism places great emphasis on personal responsibility. Karma is not forgiven by another being; it is destroyed through inner purification.

    This happens through:

    • Ahimsa — non-violence
    • Satya — truthfulness
    • Aparigraha — non-attachment
    • Tapasya — austerity
    • Samyak Darshan — right faith
    • Samyak Jnan — right knowledge
    • Samyak Charitra — right conduct

The liberated beings, called Siddhas, are completely free from karma. They do not create the world, judge souls, forgive sins, or intervene in worldly events. They are perfect, pure, and worthy of worship because they show what every soul can ultimately become.

    Takeaway

In Christianity, salvation is centered on divine grace through Christ’s sacrifice. In Jainism, liberation is achieved by the soul’s own purification from karma. No one dies for our sins; the Tirthankars compassionately show us the path by which we can free ourselves.
