If I have done upvas Today But I don't have Time to do pratikaman as My tution are there what to do

    Answer

If you have done Upvas today but genuinely do not have time for full Pratikraman because of tuition, do not panic.

Do what is possible with sincere bhaav:

    • At least do Michchhāmi Dukkaḍaṁ with repentance.
    • Do a short prayer asking forgiveness for any mistakes in thought, speech, and action.
    • If possible, do Navkar Mantra with concentration.
    • Later, when you get time, try to do Pratikraman or a shorter form of introspection.

    Explanation

In Jain Dharma, Upvas is not only about not eating. Its real purpose is to reduce attachment, increase self-control, and purify the soul.

Pratikraman is very important because it helps us reflect on our mistakes and ask for forgiveness. But if due to unavoidable circumstances you cannot do the full Pratikraman, then sincere repentance is still meaningful.

    You can quietly say:

    “Michchhāmi Dukkaḍaṁ”

    with the feeling:

“If I have hurt any living being knowingly or unknowingly through my mind, speech, or body, may those faults be forgiven.”

    Spiritual Understanding

Jain Dharma gives great importance to bhaav — inner intention. If your intention is sincere and you truly wish to do dharma, then do the best possible within your situation.

But also remember: if we can plan tuition, school, and other duties, we should slowly learn to plan time for dharma too. Next time, try to arrange your day so that you can do Pratikraman properly after Upvas.

    Takeaway

Do not leave dharma completely because you cannot do everything perfectly. Today, do a short sincere repentance and Navkar Mantra, and try to make better time for Pratikraman in the future.
