On each day of das lakshan parv what should we practice

    2 hrs ago 3

    Answer

During Das Lakshan Parv, each day is dedicated to practicing one supreme virtue of the soul. These ten virtues help a person purify thoughts, speech, and actions.

    • Day 1 – Uttam Kshama: Practice supreme forgiveness.
    • Day 2 – Uttam Mardav: Practice humility and softness of ego.
    • Day 3 – Uttam Arjav: Practice honesty and straightforwardness.
    • Day 4 – Uttam Shauch: Practice inner purity and freedom from greed.
    • Day 5 – Uttam Satya: Practice truthfulness.
    • Day 6 – Uttam Sanyam: Practice self-restraint.
    • Day 7 – Uttam Tap: Practice austerity and discipline.
    • Day 8 – Uttam Tyag: Practice renunciation and giving up attachment.
    • Day 9 – Uttam Akinchanya: Practice non-possessiveness.
    • Day 10 – Uttam Brahmacharya: Practice purity of conduct and celibacy according to one’s stage of life.

    Explanation

    1. Uttam Kshama – Forgiveness
Forgive others and ask forgiveness for your own mistakes. Avoid anger, revenge, and harshness.

    2. Uttam Mardav – Humility
Reduce pride related to wealth, knowledge, family, beauty, status, or power. Practice gentleness and respect toward all.

    3. Uttam Arjav – Straightforwardness
Keep thoughts, words, and actions aligned. Avoid deceit, manipulation, and hypocrisy.

    4. Uttam Shauch – Purity
Purify the mind from greed, jealousy, and attachment. True purity is inner purity, not only external cleanliness.

    5. Uttam Satya – Truthfulness
Speak truth that is beneficial and non-hurting. Avoid lies, exaggeration, gossip, and misleading words.

    6. Uttam Sanyam – Self-restraint
Control the senses and passions. Practice carefulness in eating, speaking, walking, using resources, and interacting with living beings.

    7. Uttam Tap – Austerity
Practice fasting, limiting food, meditation, study, repentance, and inner discipline according to your capacity.

    8. Uttam Tyag – Renunciation
Give up attachment, selfishness, and unnecessary desires. Practice charity, simplicity, and letting go.

    9. Uttam Akinchanya – Non-possessiveness
Reflect that nothing worldly truly belongs to the soul. Reduce attachment to possessions, relationships, body, and opinions.

    10. Uttam Brahmacharya – Purity of Conduct
Practice control over desires and purity in thoughts, speech, and actions. For householders, it means faithful, disciplined, and restrained living.

    Spiritual Understanding

Das Lakshan Parv is not only a festival of rituals; it is a time for deep self-purification. These ten virtues are called Uttam Dharma because they reveal the pure nature of the soul.

The main practice is to reduce:

    • anger
    • ego
    • deceit
    • greed
    • attachment
    • carelessness

    And to increase:

    • forgiveness
    • humility
    • truth
    • restraint
    • detachment
    • inner awareness

    Takeaway

Each day of Das Lakshan Parv is an opportunity to practice one quality of the pure soul. The true celebration is not only fasting or rituals, but becoming more forgiving, humble, truthful, restrained, detached, and spiritually aware.
