According to Jainism, Lord Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankara, attained moksha (liberation) at Pawapuri (in present-day Bihar, India). After attaining moksha, he is believed to reside forever in Siddhashila, which is the abode of liberated souls (Siddhas). Siddhashila is a region at the apex of the universe, beyond the cycle of birth and death, where souls who have destroyed all karmas reside in eternal bliss and knowledge.
