Is Jainism and hinduism having same origin
According to Jainism, it is an independent and eternal religion with its own distinct origins and philosophy. Jain scriptures and tradition assert that Jainism is "sanatan" (eternal), having existed from time immemorial, and was not derived from or founded by any other religion or individual. The lineage of Jain Tirthankaras (spiritual teachers), beginning with Rishabhanatha, is believed to have existed even before historical records.
While Jainism and Hinduism have coexisted in India for thousands of years and share some cultural and philosophical similarities due to their interaction, Jain tradition maintains a distinct identity, separate scriptures (like the Agamas), and unique core principles such as ahimsa (non-violence), aparigraha (non-possessiveness), and anekantavada (non-absolutism).
Thus, from the perspective of Jain teachings, Jainism does not have the same origin as Hinduism.
