Once entering derasar how should we worship

    an hour ago 1

    Answer

Once you enter a Derasar, worship should be done with humility, purity, silence, and devotion toward Arihant Bhagwan.

    A simple traditional way is:

    • Enter calmly and respectfully.
    • Bow down to Bhagwan with folded hands.
    • Say Namo Jinanam or recite the Navkar Mantra.
    • If appropriate, perform Chaitya Vandan.
    • Do darshan of Bhagwan with devotion.
    • If you are doing puja, perform it carefully and respectfully according to your tradition.
    • Sit quietly for a few moments in prayer, reflection, or samayik-like calmness.
    • Leave without hurry, maintaining reverence.

    Explanation

In Jain Dharma, worship in a Derasar is not to ask Bhagwan for worldly favors. Arihant Bhagwan is worshipped because He has conquered attachment, hatred, passions, and karma. By worshipping Him, we remember the qualities we must develop within ourselves.

    Common forms of worship include:

    • Darshan: Reverently seeing the idol of Bhagwan.
    • Vandan: Bowing with respect.
    • Puja: Offering worship with purity and devotion, such as Ashtaprakari Puja where practiced.
    • Chaitya Vandan: A traditional prayer and reverence performed before Jina Bhagwan.
    • Stavan or Stuti: Singing or reciting praises of Bhagwan’s virtues.
    • Meditation: Quietly reflecting on the qualities of Arihant, Siddha, and the path of liberation.

    Spiritual Understanding

The purpose of Derasar worship is inner purification.

When we stand before Bhagwan, we should think:

    • “Bhagwan became free from anger, ego, deceit, and greed.”
    • “I too should reduce my passions.”
    • “I should live with ahimsa, truth, restraint, and compassion.”
    • “My soul has the potential to become pure like Siddha Bhagwan.”

True worship is not only external ritual. It is also developing right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct.

    Takeaway

Enter the Derasar with a pure heart, worship Arihant Bhagwan with devotion, remember His qualities, and leave with a stronger resolve to live a more peaceful, non-violent, and spiritually disciplined life.
