How to do the long sampana

    an hour ago 1

    Answer

In Jain practice, “Sampana” usually means the concluding prayer/closing recitation done after a ritual, puja, path, samayik, pratikraman, or stavana.

But “long Sampana” can differ by sect, tradition, language, and local sangh practice. So I should not give an exact full text unless you tell me which tradition you follow.

    Common Way to Do Sampana

A respectful long Sampana generally includes:

    • Sit or stand calmly with folded hands.
    • Remember Arihant, Siddha, Acharya, Upadhyay, and Sadhu Bhagwant.
    • Offer devotion and gratitude for the completed worship or recitation.
    • Ask for forgiveness for any mistakes made in words, pronunciation, actions, or thoughts.
    • Pray that the punya of the ritual supports right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct.
    • End with peace, humility, and devotion.

    Important Note

If by “long Sampana” you mean a specific recitation used in your temple or family tradition, please tell me:

    • Is it for puja, pratikraman, samayik, or another ritual?
    • Do you follow Shwetambar, Digambar, Sthanakvasi, or Terapanthi tradition?
    • Do you want it in English, Hindi, Gujarati, or Prakrit/Sanskrit?

    Takeaway

The essence of Sampana is humility, gratitude, forgiveness, and dedication of the ritual toward spiritual purification.
