Can I go for savansari pratikraman while bleeding

    2 hrs ago 3

    Answer

Yes, you may attend Samvatsari Pratikraman while bleeding if your health allows and you feel comfortable.

In Jain Dharma, Pratikraman is mainly a spiritual practice of repentance, forgiveness, self-reflection, and purification of the soul. Menstruation or bleeding does not stop a person from doing inner repentance, reciting prayers, asking for forgiveness, and practicing humility.

    Explanation

However, customs may differ by family, sangh, temple, or Jain tradition:

    • Some people may avoid entering the derasar or touching religious items during menstruation, according to local or family customs.
    • Some may sit separately or do Pratikraman at home.
    • Some traditions allow participation normally, especially when the focus is on bhav — inner devotion and repentance.

If the bleeding is heavy, painful, or you feel weak, it is completely acceptable to do Samvatsari Pratikraman at home with sincerity.

    Spiritual Understanding

The most important part of Samvatsari is:

    • remembering one’s mistakes,
    • doing alochana and pratikraman,
    • asking forgiveness,
    • saying “Michhami Dukkadam,”
    • and creating a pure, humble feeling within.

Physical condition should not stop sincere repentance of the soul.

    Takeaway

If you are comfortable, you may go. If your family or sangh follows a stricter custom, you can respectfully do Pratikraman at home. The key is sincere bhav, forgiveness, and inner purification.
