Answer
If someone says “Sorry” during Pratikraman / Prāyaścitta or asks for forgiveness, you can reply:
- “Michhāmi Dukkaḍaṃ.”
- or “Khamemi Savva Jīve.”
- or simply: “I forgive you, and please forgive me too.”
Explanation
In Jain Dharma, the spirit is not just saying “sorry,” but removing anger, ego, and hurt from the heart.
Michhāmi Dukkaḍaṃ means: “If I have caused any harm knowingly or unknowingly, may that wrongdoing become fruitless.”
Takeaway
A good reply is said with humility and forgiveness:
“Michhāmi Dukkaḍaṃ.”
