give example of someone who has returned to worldly life

    an hour ago 4

    Answer

A well-known example in Jain tradition is Bahubali.

After gaining victory over his brother Bharata, Bahubali realized the futility of pride, power, and worldly conflict. He renounced worldly life and stood in deep meditation. However, before attaining the highest spiritual state, he still had a subtle inner attachment — a feeling connected with ego and ownership.

    Explanation

Bahubali did not “return to worldly life” in the ordinary sense of going back to pleasures, family life, or possessions. Rather, his story shows how even after renunciation, a person may still have subtle worldly attachment within the mind.

In Jain Dharma, “worldly life” is not only external possessions; it also includes inner attachments such as:

    • ego
    • pride
    • ownership
    • desire for status
    • attachment to identity

Bahubali overcame this inner bondage and ultimately attained spiritual liberation.

    Spiritual Understanding

His example teaches that true renunciation is not merely leaving the world outwardly. One must also give up inner passions and attachments.

    Takeaway

In Jain Dharma, returning to worldly life may be understood not only as physically going back to household life, but also as the mind returning to attachment, ego, and desires.
