    Answer

Yes, doing Samayik today with sincere repentance can help you reduce the bondage of new pāp and purify your inner feelings.

You can also do Kāyotsarg with Alochana and Pratikraman-bhāv — meaning honestly accepting the mistake, feeling regret, and taking a firm resolve not to repeat it.

    Explanation

In Jain Dharma, pāp is mainly bound through:

    • Wrong thoughts
    • Attachment and craving
    • Lack of self-control
    • Actions done under passion

Sexual self-indulgence increases attachment to the body and senses. So if you now feel that you want to stop, that is a good spiritual awakening.

To reduce pāp, you can do:

    • Samayik – sit in equanimity and control the mind.
    • Kāyotsarg – detach from the body and remain still with pure awareness.
    • Alochana – honestly confess the fault in your heart.
    • Pratikraman – repent for the mistake and turn back toward right conduct.
    • Pratyakhyan – take a clear vow, such as: “I will avoid this action today.”

    Spiritual Understanding

Jain Dharma does not teach hopeless guilt. It teaches awareness, repentance, restraint, and purification.

If you do Samayik only as a ritual but your mind remains in craving, the effect is limited. But if you do it with true humility and a strong decision to improve, it becomes spiritually powerful.

You may pray with this feeling:

“Michchhāmi Dukkaḍaṃ. Whatever wrong I have done through mind, speech, or body, I sincerely repent. May I gain strength for self-control.”

    Takeaway

Do Samayik today. Add a few minutes of Kāyotsarg. Repent sincerely, forgive yourself, and take a small practical vow: “Today I will remain pure in thought and action.”

One sincere step toward self-control is spiritually meaningful in Jain Dharma.
