Most Tirthankaras lived in ancient times, and their exact dates of birth cannot be matched precisely to the Gregorian calendar due to the vast time spans and the legendary nature of their lives.

However, for commemorative purposes, Jains celebrate the birth anniversaries (Janma Kalyanaks) of some Tirthankaras, especially Lord Mahavira, according to lunar dates, which are then translated into the corresponding Gregorian date each year. For example:

• Lord Mahavira’s Janma Kalyanak is celebrated on the 13th day of the bright half of the month of Chaitra (Chaitra Shukla Trayodashi), which usually falls in March or April according to the Gregorian calendar.

For other Tirthankaras, only the traditional Jain calendar dates are emphasized, and there are no universally agreed-upon Gregorian dates for their births. The focus in Jainism remains on the spiritual significance of these events rather than their historical dating.
