According to jain scriptures what is the best way to attain moksh

    5 hrs ago 7

    Answer

According to Jain scriptures, the best and only true way to attain Moksha is through the Ratnatraya — the Three Jewels:

    • Samyak Darshan — Right Faith
    • Samyak Jnan — Right Knowledge
    • Samyak Charitra — Right Conduct

These three together lead the soul toward liberation from karma and the cycle of birth and death.

    Explanation

In Jain Dharma, Moksha means the complete freedom of the soul from all karmas. The soul is naturally pure, full of infinite knowledge, perception, bliss, and energy. But karmas cover these qualities.

The path to remove karma is:

    • Right Faith: True belief in the soul, karma, Tirthankars, and the path shown by Jinas.
    • Right Knowledge: Correct understanding of reality — soul, non-soul, karma, bondage, stoppage of karma, shedding of karma, and liberation.
    • Right Conduct: Living according to Jain principles such as non-violence, truth, non-stealing, celibacy, non-possessiveness, self-control, forgiveness, tapasya, and detachment.

For householders, this begins with vows, discipline, compassion, restraint, devotion, and gradual purification. For ascetics, it is practiced in its highest form through complete renunciation and strict conduct.

    Spiritual Understanding

Moksha is not attained merely by rituals, birth, caste, wealth, learning, or worship alone. These may support spiritual growth, but liberation comes only when the soul develops right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct, and destroys all karmic bondage.

The heart of the path is:

    • Stop new karma through self-control and awareness.
    • Shed old karma through tapasya, repentance, meditation, and detachment.
    • Purify the soul by reducing passions such as anger, ego, deceit, and greed.

    Takeaway

The Jain path to Moksha is the path of Ratnatraya: see truth rightly, know truth rightly, and live truth rightly. Through non-violence, self-discipline, detachment, and purification of karma, the soul progresses toward liberation.
