Can you take pachkan in coma
In Jainism, "pachkan" (pronounced as "pachchhakan" or "pachkhan") is a vow or resolution taken with awareness and intention, usually before undertaking certain practices such as upvaas (fasting) or niyams (self-restraints). It is a conscious declaration of one's spiritual intention and discipline.
If a person is in a coma, they are unconscious and lack the awareness or intention required to take a pachkan. According to Jain principles, vows and resolutions must be taken knowingly and voluntarily, with full consciousness. Therefore, it is not considered valid or possible for someone to take pachkan while in a coma.
If the person had taken a pachkan before falling into a coma, the observance of that vow would depend on their physical and mental ability to fulfill it, but new pachkans cannot be made in an unconscious state.
