How to worship padmavati or ambika

    an hour ago 3

    Answer

In Jain Dharma, Padmavati Devi and Ambika Devi are respected as Yakshinis—protective attendant deities connected with Tirthankars. They are not worshipped as creators or supreme beings. Worship of them should be done with devotion, humility, and within Jain principles, especially ahimsa, purity, and right faith.

The highest focus in Jain worship should always remain on the Tirthankars, Arihants, Siddhas, Dharma, and spiritual liberation.

    How to Worship Respectfully

You may worship Padmavati Mata or Ambika Mata in a simple Jain way:

    • Begin with Namokar Mantra — This is the most important and universal Jain mantra.
    • Maintain purity — Bathe, wear clean clothes, and keep the worship place clean.
    • Offer devotion, not violence — Use non-harmful offerings such as flowers, rice, sandalwood, incense, or a lamp according to your family tradition.
    • Pray with right intention — Ask for spiritual strength, protection from obstacles, right faith, and ability to follow Jain Dharma.
    • Do not perform harmful rituals — Jain worship must never involve animal sacrifice, intoxication, meat, or any violent practice.
    • Recite traditional stavan or stotra — If you know an authentic Padmavati or Ambika stotra from your Jain tradition, recite it respectfully.
    • End with gratitude — Conclude by remembering the Tirthankars and seeking forgiveness for any mistakes.

    Spiritual Understanding

Padmavati Devi is traditionally associated with Bhagwan Parshvanath, the 23rd Tirthankar. Ambika Devi is traditionally associated with Bhagwan Neminath, the 22nd Tirthankar.

In Jain understanding, such deities may help devotees by removing obstacles or giving protection, but they are still worldly beings. They have not attained liberation. Therefore, their worship should support—not replace—the worship of the liberated souls and the path of moksha.

    Important Jain View

When worshipping Padmavati or Ambika, the right attitude is:

    • Not for greed or worldly attachment
    • Not with fear or superstition
    • Not as a substitute for Tirthankar worship
    • With faith in Jain Dharma and the path of liberation

    Takeaway

Worship Padmavati Mata or Ambika Mata with purity, non-violence, devotion, and humility. Keep the Tirthankars and the path of moksha as the highest refuge, and let such worship strengthen your faith, discipline, and spiritual progress.
