How many hells are there?

According to Jainism, there are seven hells, also known as "Naraka." These are realms of existence where souls experience suffering as a result of their negative karma. The seven hells are arranged in a descending order, each being progressively more torturous. The names and descriptions of these hells are detailed in Jain scriptures such as the Tattvartha Sutra.
